Communication & meaning
Sometimes the words are already there, but the point is difficult to find. Sometimes there is only an idea, a conversation or a collection of notes.
I help develop that material into writing with a clear purpose and a voice suited to its reader. The work can begin with an original brief, an existing draft or source material that needs to reach a Danish audience.
Writing with a point of view
- Articles and editorial writing: develop an idea into a coherent piece, with a clear thread, useful examples and an ending that follows from the argument.
- Website and brand copy: explain what you do, who it is for and why it matters, in language that fits your organisation.
- Creative writing and content development: explore an angle, find a narrative or give a promising but unfinished idea a workable form.
- Editorial review: refine structure, clarity, tone and consistency while preserving what gives the piece its character.
Transcreation for Danish readers
A campaign or headline may depend on rhythm, association or an assumption that does not travel with the words. Transcreation starts with what the original is trying to do and finds a way for it to work in Danish.
I adapt English and German material for Danish readers, with the intended effect, brand voice and factual meaning held in view. Where a choice changes the emphasis or moves beyond a close translation, I make the reasoning clear.
Attention to the person reading
How a message is understood depends on more than its wording. Context, expectations and the relationship between writer and reader all matter.
My interest in psychology and philosophy informs the questions I bring to a piece: what does it assume, what does it invite the reader to notice, and does the language support the point it is making?
The aim is thoughtful communication that remains concrete. A complex idea may need room to unfold; a short email may need only one well-chosen sentence.
From brief to finished text
Send the intended audience, purpose, publication channel, language and any useful source material. We agree the scope, voice, deliverable and review process before work begins.
Original writing is scoped by subject, audience and language. For specialist claims, your subject experts and approved references provide the factual basis.
